RAM has entered the electric truck game, creating a concept that will surely be worth the wait. Backed by RAM’s reputation for incredible performance, the RAM Revolution Concept is designed for truck enthusiasts looking to a fuel-free future. Production will begin next year, but RAM has hinted that the concept’s big reveal will come in the next few months.
EV Revolution Concept
The featured STLA frame platform, built to accommodate full-size electric pickups, has plenty of space to house the larger battery. Additional interior space is provided as well – four more inches than the gas-powered 2023 RAM 1500 – so drivers can expect this electric truck to boast the cabin comfort the brand is known for. Plus, to improve aerodynamics and achieve a streamlined, futuristic body design, RAM included full underbody aero panels and an active diffuser.
Exterior Design And Features
Completely refreshed with an illuminated RAM badge, this EV’s grille ensures a dramatic entrance – with LED tuning fork headlamps announcing your approach. This head-turning front fascia pairs with a low roofline, electrochromatic glass roof, Grand saloon doors, and 24-inch wheels. - Massive “frunk”: The RAM 1500 EV’s front trunk provides impressive storage space, also boasting powered single-touch open/close capabilities.
- Updated RamBox: The Revolution Concept improves upon the RamBox® Cargo Management System by adding two tiers of easily organizable storage space.
- 50/50 split multifunction tailgate: This innovative tailgate comes with bed extender doors and remote open/close functionality so you can truly make the most of your truck’s bed.
- Extendable truck bed: To accommodate your haul, the bed extends and retracts in mere seconds.
- Powered side steps: Running the length of the cabin, steps extend when the doors open. There’s even a powered rear step to allow easy access to the truck bed.
Redesigned, Luxurious interior
The RAM Revolution Concept’s bold body design hints at the expertly appointed cabin that awaits. Backseat passengers will enjoy more legroom than those riding in the 2023 RAM 1500, with upscale yet environmentally-friendly materials throughout – like biobased apple trim leather.
Customizable Cabin
These features allow your electric truck to adapt to meet your unique needs:
- Multifunction Console: Ram Track allows the console to slide from front to back to transform it into a convenient workstation.
- Performance Bolstered Seats: Lightweight, foldable seats (with speakers in the headrest!) can be removed or repositioned for easy cabin configuration.
- Third-row jump seats: These removable seats allow extra passengers to tag along, with a removable portion that serves as stadium seating for the big game.
- Pass-through storage: Flat-folding midgate extends storage space throughout the cab and into the frunk – up to 18 feet total!

Performance And Power
The RAM 1500 EV will pack quite a punch, forever silencing the argument that electric vehicles sacrifice power in the name of efficiency. The dual-motor design delivers a 500-mile range, with towing capacity comparable to traditional trucks. But the RAM 1500 EV will best its fuel-powered counterpart, with powertrains potentially reaching 885 horsepower – a plausible figure given that the gas-powered RAM 1500 crams 702 horses under the hood.
This electric concept model will feature fast-charging capabilities, adding up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes – and putting it neck and neck with the GMC Hummer EV! RAM hasn’t yet revealed whether the 800 volts will come from a single battery pack or two 40-volt batteries.
